Should Andy Carroll go to Euro 2012?

You would argue that Andy Carroll has not really lived up to his massive £35 million price-tag since joining Liverpool from Newcastle in January last year.

However, in recent weeks, those assessing the Latest Euro 2012 odds note how Carroll has scored two vital winning goals for his side and looked back to some of the form which earned him his move to Anfield.

With the European Championships just round the corner, the 23-year-old could be making himself a late contender on the plane to the Ukraine and Poland.

This isn’t to say that Carroll is back to his best, in fact he still has some way to go, but you have to admire his attitude - no matter what was being said about him he would always come out and give his all.

The Englishman certainly is an intimidating presence for defences, at six foot three he is not one to be taken lightly. His ability on the floor as well as in the air is very impressive when he is playing well.

The Newcastle born striker has made just three performances at International level so far in his career. One of these was a friendly against Ghana, where he managed to get onto the score sheet.

There has been a lot of talk amongst those looking at England Euro 2012 odds about England needing to take a big striker to the EURO’s this year, especially with Wayne Rooney being suspended for the first two games.

If Carroll were to end the season strongly and score a few goals for Liverpool he is surly the ideal candidate to be leading the line for England.

On his day, he can be unplayable and certainly a player that International defenders would be worried about facing.

The Liverpool number nine can boost his chances this weekend when his side plays West Brom at Anfield. With the confidence of his winning goal from Wembley at the weekend, it should be a game that Andy Carroll is relishing.
